mother mother mother

I have had this beautiful 50s blouse hanging in my closet (which I still need to alter) and it doesn't really go with anything I have now. Surprised? So was I.

The problem was that that the blouse is too short and all of my high-waisted skirts were too contemporary. Solution: The first addition to the mother apparel collection is going to be a high waisted-bubble skirt...because who can't resist those?

I need input on the fabric I choose.

I like a check, but I prefer the one on the right. Putty color w/ the cream could be really great. Go with the simpler fabric and really work on the construction of the skirt.

My grandma is moving and just sent over a whole box of patterns. I'll go through them and see if there's something you may like. She made every piece of clothing her family wore in the 40s, 50s and 60s. It could be gold mine.
