help me find these boots, y'all.

Living in a city, especially a city full of beautiful people, means that I have become obsessed with shoes. The same thing happened last time in Barcelona with a certain pair of illusive gladiator sandals and round-toed gray boots. I never found exactly what I was looking for. (OCD for details much?)

This time, I want cowboy-ish boots with a bit of grunge glam. I see boots everywhere, and Urban Outiffters has a pair that are almost perfect (far left)...but the heel is a bit too high and the upper a bit too short. Also, I want boots the color of dirt, not caramel. Because I'm obsessed (and have too much free time) I drew what I wanted. If you guys see anything like this...lemmie know.

And here is the rest of it.

We made a dress, went for pasta.

Think Maria von Trapp, but more than curtains. A project with Anita Chen on reuse, and repurposing, this cocktail dress is made completely from materials found within feet of our homes. Materials, that in a greater sense, are the products and evidence of daily life. The Sites/Specifics: The Home (exterior): textiles from a discarded couch found at Anita's dumpster, a zipper from discarded couch found at Andrew's dumpster. The Home (interior): 3 years of saved drip-coffee filters, washed, and pressed. The Body (Anita Chen): patterns were created from an old t-shirt, stretched and pinned to the body in a single piece. The 2D patterns were revealed as the material was cut away from the body. more pics coming... Continue

Bye Milano, Bye.

Milan posts have gone MIA, because frankly it was boring. Marni, Jil Sander, and of course Prada, were subtly all plenty innovative. It appeared that many more labels would be as well, with all the critics clamoring “omg real clothes, how interesting, etc…”. But it turns out "real clothes" aren’t that interesting.

After 200 or so years, I’d hope one could cut a suit with an espresso in one hand, and a smoke in the other. So, Paris onward! Current, stunning-non-boring-favorites: YSL and Kris Van Assche.

Milano and go... Men's Shows Day 1

Ummm...Let's hope so because nothing can prevent the typical Guido-rache trippings of the Dolce & Gabbana boys from confusing us per usual. A tuxedo shirt with your speedo sir? Fraggle Rock Sweaters fospring?

inspired looks coming monday...
