ok. what is it that i feel about these things? i love them. i don't like the perfect landscape around them, though. i also want their wings to be more real. less like angel cartoons. the faces are getting a little too stonehenge-like in shape. have you tried making appendages grow out of face-like protrusions? i don't know, trying to help the brainstorming process. you were thinking about abstracting the background like your first of these or no?
thank you, dylan! "angel cartoon" and "too stone-heng-ish" was what was bothering me too, except i couldn't identify it.
definite yes to an abstracted background...that, i want to paint like last time. im thinking an eventual merge of paint, collage, hand-drawing, photoshop and illustrator. we'll see...for now, ill be strictly photoshoping.
creepy in a good way.. agree about the background. but maybe it can be a simplified realistic representation. choosing where to highlight what with different line weights, achieving a hand-drawn depth. i can see the wings coming out of the heads- - extensions of the heads in similar colors...fleshy-esque. these rocks look like chocolate bars
a nit-picky thing...the whiskers have white between them, and i think you should either get rid of it or make it opaque. right now it just looks like you didnt cut it out.
i think of the 'whiskers' more as extra fin-like wings for an ease in navigation for these giant face creatures.. i like... maybe define more so less confusin. Also i like caseys idea of maybe keeping the realism of the background (less perfect maybe but still real)and making it a beautiful detailed black and white line drawing.
