so i have to write a THESIS this year. my topic is post-disaster REgenerative design: rebuilding after war, terror, mother earth rebelling etc.

i could have easily picked new orleans...

but i am currently researching what would happen if Portland had a major earthquake (predicted to happen now, or now, or now)

all bridges collapsed
2000 buildings downtown in rubble
hundreds sunk into the land from liquefaction
river contaminated with broken oil/gas lines
land slides
river infilled

to use a precedent of how things could go better after they go so wrong
suggestions?

      • over stylized fonts, and forced hierarchies
      • insecure messages, desperate for attention
      • you can see the insecurity of the designer, "if i don't put enough, you won't look"
      • "should i right-align?"
        
        
        coat a city in that and you have the contemporary condition

Flower Pillow

I was in Clemson for the weekend...spent some time at the lake and happened to see what all was going on downtown with the Clemson Arts Festival. I found these little clay "flower pillows" and had to buy one. Its like a hollow clay pillow that can hold water and has several holes to hold flower, stems, etc. Continue
