clubhouse for the homeless? there was a creepy futon down there. i wonder if it's actual gang graffiti or if it's the little skater punks i see everywhere? we comment all the time about how the skating community are really the only people you see out and activating public spaces around here.
yeah, something that engages that urban demographic and the environmental problem with city run-off would be cool. in paris, there was a project where someone created skate parks, basketball courts and what not underneath the metro-line bridges. i also saw a design for wind turbines placed within the scaffolding of powerlines, generating energy and feeding directly into the network. i just like the idea of designs within the negative spaces that seem to already be occupied like this.
doesnt that creek branch off from the lake? If so we have bigger issues than city pollutants. Also I know of a lot of restoration projects that deal with these exact projects. They incorporate walkways so that its a safer way of transportation off the street.

**I have not seen any real information about the planners for the project. I doubt it was overseen by an architect. Something like this would most likely take a city initiative to hire the contractors to build without hassling with an architect. However it is a good idea. Dylan, I believe there many other skating initiatives like this. I know San Diego has recently added a larger skate park underneath some overpasses.

nice
project opportunity, though huh?
i guess i mean inaccessible/unnoticed/unwanted by the downtown population. there's a potential for a really interesting intervention here, though.
build a clubhouse! slash do something to make the water less awful.
