on to the design + technology workshop! a biannual 36 hour charette featuring critic Sean Lally from the w-e-a-t-h-e-r-s office out of chicago. check it out. it is pretty great stuff.

teams are made up of 2 returning grads, 2 adv standing, and 2 newbies.
group work, here i come.

These maps are making more sense! I'm liking it. Something still tells me more info can be gained faster from the 2d version, but w/e. I suppose this is more technical.

Oh shite I totally get it, I found Snowflakes and now I see. The site is in contrast to the more commercial area.

oh my gooooood i love how the text makes each map so distinct. what a brilliant way to map a place. Temples saw Snowflakes and immediately recognized something familiar.

and is this a Place with a capital P? to dig up some old s.o.s conversations...

i dont know what kind of project the mappings are for, but i can see them being a really practical thing if this is for a arch/plannng project.

the secondary 'local-commercial' arrows communicate well.

i mean 'practical' in a way that clearly established the forces or conditions of a site. i like the idea of architecture coming out of circumstance - it being a composite of all the most important factors.
